Champions League 2008 Twenty20 Cricket tournament will be held between December 3-10 in Chennai, Mumbai and Bangalore. 8 teams from 5 countries will participate in this most prestigious tournament. Top cricket teams from India, Australia, South Africa, England and Pakistan will participate in this lucrative event. ESPN bagged the broadcasting rights of the CL T20 cricket tournament which will be expanded to 2 more countries in the next edition.

Group A matches:

 

1. December 3rd: Middlesex Vs Victoria at Mumbai.

 

2. December 4th: Chennai Super Kings Vs Victoria at Mumbai.

 

3. December 5th: Middlesex Vs Pretoria Titans at Chennai.

 

4. December 6th: Victoria Vs Pretoria Titans at Chennai.

 

5. December 6th: Chennai Super Kings Vs Middlesex at Chennai.

 

6. December 7th: Chennai Super Kings Vs Titans at Chennai.

 

Group B matches:

 

1. December 3rd: Rajasthan Royals Vs Natal Dolphins at Mumbai.

 

2. December 4th: Sialkot Stallions Vs Western Australia at Bangalore.

 

3. December 5th: Sialkot Stallions Vs Rajasthan Royals at Mumbai.

 

4. December 6th: Western Australia Vs Natal Dolphins at Bangalore.

 

5. December 7th: Natal Dolphins Vs Sialkot Stallions at Bangalore.

 

6. December 7th: Rajasthan Royals Vs Western Australia at Chennai.

 

Semi-finals:

 

December 8th: Group B winner Vs Group A runner-up at Bangalore.

 

December 9th: Group A winner Vs Group B runner-up at Chennai.

 

Final:

 

December 10th: at Chennai.

 

Champions league news: Umpires are announced

 

Australia’s Simon Taufel and New Zealand’s Gary Baxter will officiate in the final of the inaugural Champions League 2008 Twenty20 cricket tournament.

 

Umpires for Semi-finals:

 

Bangalore (December 8th): Daryl Harper (Australia) and Asad Rauf (Pakistan).

 

Chennai (December 9th): Simon Taufel (Australia) and Shahvir Tarapore (India).

 

For 3 Mumbai matches: S. Venkatraghavan of India is the match referee whereas New Zealand’s Billy Bowden and India’s Amish Sahiba and Marais Erasmus are the umpires.

 

For 3 Chennai matches: Roshan Mahanama of Sri Lanka is the match referee whereas Taufel, Baxter and Tarapore are the umpires.
