Sialkot Stallions announced their 15-member squad for the 2008 Champions League T20 Cricket tournament. This most underrated team will be led by Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik and has memorable record in the Twenty20 format. Sialkot team is weakened by players’ exodus to Indian Cricket League (ICL).
Sialkot is looking strong in spin department but may not replicate its domestic success in the Champions League due to weak fast bowling department. Sialkot is the sole representative from Pakistan and got this lucky chance due to the expulsion of Kent. Sialkot Stallions are the 3-time winners of the domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament.
Sialkot is looking weak due to expulsion of its stars Imran Nazir, Naved-ul-Hasan and Mohammad Asif as they played in the rival Indian Cricket League (ICL). But its batting lineup has superb record in the T20 format but most players are unknown to Indian viewers. Sialkot defeated strong Karachi team in the final of the domestic T20 tournament. No one should underestimate this team.
