The two Australian teams feature in a Friday double-header in Delhi, with NSW taking on the Diamond Eagles and Victoria up against the Delhi Daredevils.

Reigning Australian domestic Twenty20 champions NSW have been grouped with South Africa’s Diamond Eagles and English county side Sussex.

Victoria, who finished runners-up to NSW last summer, have been grouped with formidable Indian outfit Delhi Daredevils and less well-known Sri Lankan side Wayamba.

Victoria vs Delhi Daredevils:

Victoria Bushrangers have won 3 KFC T20 Big Bash cup in past 4 years. Young guns like Brad Hodge, David Hussey, and Cameroon White are sure going to set the atmosphere blazing with their power hitting.

The bowling department will be also well taken care off under Peter Siddle and Shane Harwood. Other prominent performers for the Bushrangers are Robb Quiney, Andrew McDonald, spinner Bryce McGain and all-rounder John Hastings.

Daredevil were the genuine match winners in the IPL season 2 and deserved the cup. This team has every thing from a great batsman to a great bowler to their side. Nannes looms as a major threat; Shipperd the Victorian coach said Delhi’s spin attack headed by Indian test representative Amit Mishra would pose challenges for the Bushrangers.

Delhi has best opening pair in the form of Gambhir and Sehwag. Their batting will further boosted by stylish Dilshan and Karthik

Asked about the key factors for Victoria in the game, Shipperd said: “I think one or two of our top four really nailing their batting opportunity.

CL T20 Teams:

Delhi Daredevils: Rajat Bhatia, Daniel Vettori, Owais Shah, V Sehwag, Pradeep Sangwan, Aavishkar Salvi, Ashish Nehra, Dirk Nannes, Amit Mishra, Manoj Tiwary, Glenn McGrath, T Dilshan, G Gambhir (C), Dinesh Karthik, Mithun Manhas

Victoria: Aiden Blizzard, Peter Siddle, C White (C), Matthew Wade, Robert Quiney, Clinton McKay, Bryce McGain, Andrew McDonald, David Hussey, Aaron Finch, Shane Harwood, John Hastings, Brad Hodge, Jon Holland, James Pattinson.

Eagles vs New South Wales:

Diamond Eagles will have to play out of their skin to start their Champions League campaign on a winning note against a formidable New South Wales (NSW).

Captain Simon Katich, Stuart Clark, Nathan Hauritz and Brett among others in the NSW squad, Lee, the champion Australian side is undoubtedly the overwhelming favorites in the opening Group B match.

On the other hand, Eagles are the underdogs in the encounter, but one thing which is in the favor of Boeta Dippenaar-led side is the lack of knowledge about them.

The NSW attack has two nippy pacers in Doug Bollinger and Stuart Clark up its rank. The spin department will be in the hands of off-spinner Nathan Hauritz, who is fast emerging as a world class tweaker.

The batting front will be led by Philip Hughes and explosive David Warner, who make a formidable opening combination for the NSW, while Katich will provide the much-needed stability in the middle.

For Eagles, Dippenaar is the mainstay in the batting line-up while right-hand batsman Ryan Bailey also has the capability to change the color of a match on his given day.

Eagle’s bowling department too lacks experience and will face a herculean task against a solid NSW batting line up tomorrow.

Diamond Eagles: Boeta Dippenaar (C), Ryan Bailey, Jandre Coetzee, Cornelius de Villiers, Dillon du Preez, Dean Elgar, Reeza Hendricks, Alan Kruger, Adrian McLaren, Ryan McLaren, Victor Mpitsang, Rilee Rossouw, Thandi Tshabalala, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Morne van Wyk.
