Central Districts Stags is the lone representative from New Zealand in the 2010 CLT20 cricket tournament. They qualified to the Champions League cricket tournament by winning the 2009-10 HRV Cup domestic Twenty20 (New Zealand domestic T20 cricket tournament). They announced 20-man preliminary squad and is expected to announce final 15-member squad in the August first week. Ross Taylor is also eligible to play for Bangalore Royal Challengers while Jacob Oram is eligible to play for Chennai Super Kings. The Standard Bank Pro20 champions, Chevrolet Warriors and runners-up, Highveld Lions announced their 20-man preliminary squads for 2010 Airtel Champions League T20 cricket tournament.
