The Blues started with a flier after marking an emphatic 53-run win against the Diamond Eagles in their previous match. That win came on this same ground and Simon Katich’s side will benefit from having experienced the conditions. Katich himself top scored with 53 off 41 balls as NSW posted 144. Stuart Clark with 3 wickets for just 12 runs was chief destroyer as The Eagles made just 91 in the chase. This terrific victory has kept the side boiling with confidence and rising with positive energy, which will be conspicuous in their next encounter with the Sussex Sharks as well. Simon Katich and David Warner displayed some splendid batting performance that eventually led the NSW Blues to clinch their first victory in the league.On the other hand, it will be the first match for the Sussex Sharks in the Champions League and they will take heart from the performance of fellow English challengers Somerset, who beat Deccan in Hyderabad on Saturday. The side has an impressive lineage.
